2025 Senior Student Tea Chat 15: Sharing Session on Applying for Research Master's and PhD Programs in the US, Europe, Hong Kong, and Singapore
On April 25, 2025, SDS Career Development Office, in collaboration with SDS student club, successfully held the Peers’ Tea Talk for MPhil/PhD Application Sharing Session" in TA102. Five senior students who received multiple offers during the application season shared detailed insights into key aspects of the application process, including research experience, application timelines, school selection strategies, and writing personal statements. Their experiences spanned fields such as computer science, neuroscience, data science, and robotics.
Among them, Mr. Mang, from Computer Science, emphasized the importance of aligning research interests with potential advisors and shared his published papers and research experiences. Ms. Jiang, specializing in neuroscience, shared her overseas exchange experiences and multiple research involvements, encouraging students to explore different opportunities to clarify their interests. During the Q&A session, students actively discussed with the guests on specific topics, such as asking for recommendation letters and applying across disciplines.
