Interactive AI is a center of excellence where we conduct research for artificial intelligence systems that can engage in real-time, two-way communication with users or other systems. We develop enabling technologies for artificial intelligence agents that can understand and respond to audio, speech, text and visual input, and can also ask questions or provide information in a conversational manner. This is an interdisciplinary research area that draw strengthen from the advances in brain-inspired computing, speech information processing, natural language processing, large language models, interactive digital media, and generative AI. 

The Center of Interactive AI is home to 100 researchers who are faculty members, post-doc fellows, postgraduate students, and visiting scholars. We seek to transform the way of human-machine and machine-machine interacts, and to enable novel and innovative products and services. We stand out for the commitment to academic excellence, diversity, vibrancy, and creative innovation. The center is a place where aspiring people meet real-world research problems.

The Center of Interactive AI benefits from close collaboration with the industry in Shenzhen that offers interesting research problems, a critical mass of scientific leaders in the audio, speech and language technology, and inextricable connection to international research community.
