Professor Kun Fang from SDS collaborated with Dr. Thomas Theurer and Professor Gilad Gour from the University of Calgary to publish a paper titled "Single-shot entanglement manipulation of states and channels revisited". This work has been formally accepted and presented at QIP 2024, the most influential international conference on quantum information.

The School of Data Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), has opened applications for its 2024 Postgraduate Recruitment Summer Camp. This event aims to select outstanding students from around the world, offering them early admission offers to pursue M.Sc. degrees in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and Financial Engineering.

On 21 May 2024, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) inaugurated two new laboratories: the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Cross-modal Cognitive Computing and the CUHK(SZ)-Quwan Joint Research Laboratory.

The School of Data Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, had 15 papers accepted at the 2024 International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML). ICML is one of the premier international academic conferences in the fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence. It is recognised as one of the oldest, largest, and most influential conferences in the machine learning domain and is recommended as an A-class conference by the China Computer Federation (CCF).

On 26 April, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, released the 2023 Employment Quality Report for graduates of the Master of Science Programme in Financial Engineering. Despite the increasing number of university graduates and accompanying job market pressures, the employment rate (including further studies) for the 2023 cohort rose from 97.5% to 97.8%.
