On 24 Mar 2024, the Shenzhen Association for Artificial Intelligence (SAAI) hosted the ICASSP 2024 Paper Preview at the SAAI's science popularisation base located on the fourth floor of Building 1, Chongwen Campus, Nanshan I Park, Shenzhen. The forum was chaired by Dr. Zhizheng Wu, Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), and Mr. Hui Bu, founder and CEO of AISHELL&SpeechHome.

On 9 March 2024, the SDS Student Club （SSC)  organised a delightful spring outing, fostering academic exchanges and shared visions for the future amongst students and faculty.

On 12 March 2024, in a special session of the Master Forum at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Professor J. Michael Harrison, a distinguished member of the National Academy of Engineering and Fellow of both the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, delivered a lecture titled "Sixty Years of Applied Probability". This event was part of the University's 10th anniversary celebrations and took place in the School of Data Science. Chaired by Professor Jiangang Dai, Leon C.

The School of Data Science (SDS) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) is set to host a series of exclusive information sessions for prospective students in Shanghai (Tongji University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University, and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics).

The School of Data Science (SDS) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, is delighted to announce the acceptance of 13 papers by its faculty and students at the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) 2024, with two of these submissions distinguished as Spotlight papers. ICLR ranks among the most prestigious conferences in the field of machine learning, focusing on cutting-edge research in various aspects of deep learning.

The Guangdong Key Lab of Mathematical Foundations for Artificial Intelligence (Hereinafter as “The Key Lab”) was established in 2023, with the approval from the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, and is hosted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). The Key Lab focuses on developing the mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence (AI), seeking theoretical breakthroughs in models and algorithms of AI, and consolidating the foundation of AI development.

On May 21, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen's School of Data Science, and the Voice Home community jointly hosted a technology symposium on campus – the "Symposium on Speech and Language Processing Technologies (Shenzhen)." This symposium provided a vibrant platform for sharing knowledge and insights among academic, industry, and research communities. Its main purpose was to encourage valuable discussions and reveal the exciting paths that upcoming technologies, especially in speech and language processing, are set to explore.
