Biography

Professor Zhen-Qing Chen is a tenured professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Washington. Before joining the University of Washington in 1998, he had appointments at the University of California at San Diego and Cornell University.

Professor Zhen-Qing Chen is an international leading scholar in Probability Theory. He has published more than 200 research papers in leading journals including the Journal of the European Mathematical Society, Annals of Probability, Probability Theory and Related Fields, and two monographs. He is named in the 2023 Stanford's List of World's Top 2% Scientists both for career-long and for single-year. Professor Chen received an Ito Prize from the Bernoulli Society for Mathematical Statistics and Probability in 2019. He is an elected Fellow of the American Mathematical Society and an elected Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Society. He serves as the editor-in-chief of Potential Analysis since 2016 and is the coordinating of the Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society editor for Applied Mathematics, Probability and Statistics. He also serves in the editorial boards of several other international journals in mathematics and probability theory.
