Dr. Chenjun Xiao is a tenure-track assistant professor in the School of Data Science (SDS), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and Ph.D. degree from University of Alberta. Prior to joining CUHK-Shenzhen, he was chosen as TopMinds by Huawei, and worked as a research scientist in Huawei Noah Ark’s Lab from 2022-2024. He also worked as a student researcher in Google Brain from 2020-2022.

His research interests mainly focus on machine learning for sequential decision-making. He has published papers in top-tier machine learning conferences including NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AISTATS, AAAI, etc. His work was recognized with the Outstanding Paper Award at AAAI-2018.
