Dr. Tianyang Hu is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the School of Data Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He obtained his B.S. in Math from Tsinghua University, M.S. in Statistics from The University of Chicago and Ph.D. in Statistics from Purdue University. Prior to joining CUHK-Shenzhen, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in National University of Singapore and a research scientist in Huawei Noah’s Ark Lab.
Dr. Hu’s research interests lie in the intersection of Statistics and AI, with the aim of advancing the theoretical understanding of AI and developing theory-inspired new algorithms. He is particularly interested in Statistical Machine Learning, Trustworthy AI, Representation Learning and Generative Modeling.
