刘桂良教授曾于2020-2022年任加拿大滑铁卢大学博士后和维克特研究院的研究员。在此之前，他于2020年从加拿大西蒙菲莎大学取得博士学位，并且于2016年从华南理工大学取得学士学位。

他曾经和多伦多大学机器学习组、百度研究院认知学习实验室以及华为诺亚研究院有紧密合作。他曾获MITACS学术训练奖和中国国家奖学金。他在国际一流计算机会议（包括NeurIPS、WWW、ICRL 和IJCAI）上发表过多篇文章。他目前也是多个国际著名人工智能会议（包括NeurIPS、ICML和ICLR）的审稿人。
